Class of 2015 and Staff

Last Thursday 18th June was a big night in the life of our school. It was the last hurrah for the outgoing Sixth Class of St Fergus’ N.S.-their Graduation Ceremony. With a touch of sadness but with a great amount of pride we bid a fond farewell to the nineteen young men and women who will leave our books on the 26th of this month.

The songs, prayers and readings were done by the pupils, parents and teachers of the class and each symbolised the time spent together by these boys and girls in our school, working and learning together. They also symbolise the huge transition that they are making to their Secondary Schools next September. We are delighted to let them leave, as ambassadors for St Fergus-they are ready to fly forth. We know that we will hear many good things about them and their successes in the years ahead. We thank them for the wonderful part that they have all played in the life of our school and for their contribution to the story of St Fergus’ N.S. They have been terrific role models for the boys and girls coming after them. They have been a great class-full of life and enthusiasm. Their achievements are many but possibly the most important one of all, is the great bond of friendship that exists between them. We are convinced that this will continue in the years ahead.

Each young person received their certificate for completing their primary school education but perhaps the highlight of the night was the surprise gift of hoodies for the “Class of 2015”. Each had the signatures of the boys and girls of sixth class on the back. The boys’ hoodies are grey and purple while the girls are purple and silver.

Thank you to the parents who came to the evening. For some, it was the last event in their immediate contact with St Fergus’ N.S We hope that is was the conclusion to many happy years for you as part of our school community.

Thank you to the Parents Council for serving the post ceremony refreshments which were provided by the parents of the pupils. You were as always super in your given task.

So with all of our good wishes we send forth another bunch of young men and women from St Fergus’ N.S. We are proud to have played a small role in your formation and hope that in the years ahead, you will be able to look back on your time with us, with fondness and happy memories. Go n-éirí go geal libh!
