St. Fergus’ National School celebrates School Action Day.

CIMG3638

A wonderful Energy Efficient and Fun Day was enjoyed by all in St. Fergus’ N.S. today, as we endeavour to achieve our fourth Green Schools’ Flag on the theme of Travel.

The day began bright and early with all pupils and parents assembling in the Village Square to walk to school together. Dressed in green-and some in even stranger colours and gear, every one walked, skipped, strolled and danced to school to begin a day of excitement.

Over the course of the school day, pupils took part in the following activities;

  • A talk on healthy eating
  • A demonstration on Hybrid and Electric Cars from MacElligotts Motors of Tralee
  • The Golden Boot Award (won by Fifth and Sixth Class and Ms Dillane)and Aerobics Classes with Colm Hassett of CH Fitness and
  • Healthy eating with fruit provided by Fruity Fresh, Irremore, Listowel and brown scones from Kearney’s Bakery of Ballyhahill.

Thank you to Mrs Ambrose for organising such a fun packed day and to those who sponsored activities and events on the day. Well done to all.
