Oh what a night! Well done to the directors and performers of yesterday’s Christmas Concert-The Christmas Craic-er! It was yet again a huge success, thanks to the hard work of the whole school community. Thank you to everyone involved.

The show began, at 1pm with the Infants and Ms O’Hanlon staging, “The Landlord’s Cat”. Through singing and dancing, they retold the Christmas story through the eyes of the cat in the stable in Bethlehem over 2000 years ago. The performance had the “Aawwhh” factor in spades. They concluded their performance with the song “The Happiest Christmas Tree”.

At 7pm, the rest of the school held their part of the show. First and Second class treated the audience to the Christmas Story “A Midwife Crisis”-the story of the very important midwife who is rushing to get to the birth  of a very special baby in Bethlehem-ably assisted by her trusted side-kick, a donkey called Stephanie. The lost kings and the rocking shepherdesses added great appeal to the performance through their catchy tunes and far out style.

Third and Fourth Class performed a medley of songs and jokes in the sketch “A Christmas Cracker” and their corny Christmas Cracker jokes kept the audience laughing and Holly and Ivy ensured audience participation by insisting on them singing “Deck The Halls” as well as they could. The audience duly obliged.

Fifth and Sixth paid homage to Robin of Locksley in their performance “Hoodwinked”. They performed and sang expertly and entertained the whole room with their catchy one liners and witty songs. The archery was a huge “hit” and there was even a rendition of the famous Bryan Adams hit from the movie, many of us remember.

The evening concluded with a medley of Christmas songs performed by the choir. This was surely the highlight of the night, with sweet singing of “A Child is Born” and “Silent Night” along with rocking tunes “Here Comes Santa Claus” and “Jingle Bell Rock”.

Thank you once again to all who attended both performances and contributed so generously to the donation buckets. Your generosity in spirit and financially is, as always greatly appreciated and will be put to very good use.

We hope that you all enjoyed the show and that we have set you up for a Christmas full of faith, hope and love.
